Valerie Murzl is the Vice President of Human Resources and Training for Station Casinos, Inc., one of the Country's largest public gaming locals companies with over 14,000 employees.  A New York native, Valerie has been in Human Resources in the Hospitality industry for over 25 years.  She brings spirit, energy and passion to the culture of Station Casinos in Human Resources and Training.  Over the course of the past ten years, Valerie has enthusiastically and strategically moved Human Resources and Training from a traditional role to a progressive, dynamic level.

As a result of Valerie's leadership, she strategically designed an HR/Training function that led to Station Casinos winning a place on the prestigious FORTUNE "100 Best Companies To Work For" list in 2005 (Ranked #54), 2006 (Ranked #55), 2007 (Ranked #18) and 2008 (Ranked #33).  Through her leadership, in 2006 the Company competed in a National competition and received the 2nd Place "HR Service Excellence" Award.  Station Casinos has also received recognition as 2nd Place for "Best Place To Work" and 1st Place for "Best Gaming Company Committed to Diversity" from the Southern Nevada HR Association.  Due to the many programs Valerie has helped coordinate to assist working mothers, Station has also been named "Nevada Company of the Year" by the Moms in Business Network. 

Her accomplishments have been recognized by the numerous awards she has received on behalf of Station Casinos.  These accomplishments include HR Executive of the Year Honoree by Human Resource Executive Magazine, "Woman of the Year" (NEWH), "Community Achievement Award" from the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and "Senatorial Recognition" from John Ensign "For making a real difference in the minds and lives of the young children of Nevada."  Valerie was also named "Unsung Hero" and received the "Humanitarian of the Year" award from Goodwill for her efforts in building a strong partnership between Station and Goodwill.  She was also recognized by The Asian American Group as one of the first recipients of the Community Excellence Award.  

Valerie currently serves on the Executive Board of Goodwill of Southern Nevada, the Advisory Board of the Special Olympics, the Southern Nevada Workforce Investment Board and the Centennial Hills Hospital Board.  Valerie has served on the American Gaming Association's Diversity Committee for 4 years.  To add to her long list of accomplishments, she also graduated from the FBI Citizens' Academy Program.

Along with being a Corporate Executive, Valerie is a wife and mother of 3 girls.  Prior to moving to Las Vegas and joining Station Casinos in 1997, she worked for MOA Hospitality, as the Vice President of Human Resources of a Chicago-based franchisee, who owned and operated 135 motels/hotels in 36 states.  Valerie also worked with the Marriott Corporation for 10 years in Hawaii and California.
