This innovative educator, choreographer and motivator has worked with Bette Midler, Robert Guillame, Peter Falk, Billy Crystal, Lionel Ritchie, Tom Jones, Patrick Swayze, Joan Rivers, Andy Gibb, Sammy Davis Jr. and Michael Jackson to name just a few. Versatile and energetic, Linda's style is bold, aggresive and from the heart. Linda and her husband, Darryl Retter, are the owners of Retter's Academy of Dance in Los Angeles, co-directors of R&B Professional Dance Company and the nationally aclaimed Rhythm Machine Dance Company.

 

Linda broke image barriers in her younger days as a dancer and teacher and still does.  She makes dance a possibility for girls and boys because doesn't fit the typical dancer image.  She's inspired a new type of dancer to emerge that didn't fit the "rockette/showgirl" mold.

 

Linda and her husband are known as the "Dynamic Duo in Dance" throughout the U.S. and Canada as Master Teachers and Choreographers. Combined, they represent over 50 years of dance experience. Whether it is dance education or the professional dance world there is no stone left unturned to their list of credits.

 

Retter Productions, Inc., and the internationally ranked Rhythm Machine Dance Company and R & B Dance Company (under the direction of Darryl and Linda), have been recognized and featured in Dance Magazine, Dancer, Dance Spirit, Dance & Fitness, and Dance Teacher. Retter Videos, a line of educational dance videos and children's music produced by Darryl and Linda, are in constant demand.

 

Linda is the creator of Stagewear L.A., a breathtaking line of beautiful and age-appropriate costumes, and is also on staff as a featured writer for Dancer Magazine. Dance is their passion; education, their mission!

 

Affiliated with the nation's leading dance conventions such as Tremaine Dance Conventions, they are "teachers to teachers" also instructing children of all ages and all levels and styles of dance. They have also taught with Dance Masters, Professional Dance Teachers Association, Dance in Action, Hoctor's Dance Caravan, and many other leading organizations.

 

Linda's students have gone on to perform on Broadway, in films, in videos, and on television. Other students have received dance scholarships to universities and many dance centers are currently teaching Darryl's technique throughout the nation.

 

Linda is committed to excellence in dance and are compelled to "give back" what so many others have given to them. They are proud of their dance profession and especially of their dance studio, Retter's Academy of Dance, which is entering its 13th glistening season.
