May 4, 2005 - Las Vegas - Karen Moyer, Co-Founder of The Moyer Foundation and wife to Seattle Mariners all-star pitcher Jamie Moyer, will be given the "Create Your Dreams" award by The Moms in Business Network and The International Association of Working Mothers on May 7, 2005. The event will be the first to open the new Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. This award honors working mothers, like Karen, who balance career, family and motherhood, while achieving outstanding success in creating their own businesses.

In 2000, Karen Moyer co-founded The Moyer Foundation to help children and families enduring a time of profound distress. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided more than $2.6 million in grants to over 100 non-profit organizations that help children and families in distress.

"In creating and achieving her own dream to help children in distress, Karen is actively helping children to realize their dreams as well. We love what she is doing and want to honor her for it," said Gina Robison-Billups, National President and Founder of The Moms in Business Network.

"The Moyer Foundation became a gift to me from my husband Jamie who lives his dream every day of playing baseball. Our mission at the Foundation is to help children in need, a different way of fulfilling dreams when children and their families are enduring profound distress. I am humbled by this award because making dreams come true is in the power of each of us every day," said Karen Moyer.

Karen is a successful philanthropist, wife, mother of six and proven leader who is always looking for new opportunities to help children realize their dreams. In 2006, The Moyer Foundation will launch Dream Catchers, a unique, three-city auction that will give the public a chance to bid on once-in-a-lifetime dream experiences. Proceeds from Dream Catchers will help to expand key initiatives of the Foundation, like Camp Erin, bereavement camps for children grieving the loss of a loved one. The Foundation has already established four Camp Erins in the Northwest, and is currently planning to open camps in Idaho, Arizona, and California. Establishing an event like Dream Catchers demonstrates Karen's commitment to her dream of helping children and is why she is so deserving of the "Create Your Dreams Award," said Robison-Billups.

The Create Your Dreams Gala is the only national event honoring the outstanding achievements of working mothers who are leaders in business, arts and the community. The gala will be held on Mother's Day weekend. Other award recipients include Carol Lavin Bernick, Chairman of the Alberto-Culver Company, Nien-Leng Wacker, CEO and Founder of Laserfiche/Compulink, LULAC, the League of Latin American Citizens and MGMMirage.
