New Cancer Screening is Doggone Amazing - In a study by the Pine Street Foundation in California, dogs trained to identify lung and breast cancers were found to be amazingly accurate. How do they do it? By smelling patient's breath.

In the study, dogs sniffed out 564 of 574 lung cancer cases according to a report in the March issue of Integrative Cancer Therapies. In a British study, dogs could sniff out bladder cancer through dried urine samples.

Ted Gansler, M.D., director of the medical content for the American Cancer Society says that if further studies prove this to be a successful screening, then the ability would have to be replicated in a science- based test. More studies are being done to see if dogs can distinguish between cancer and other diseases.

Networking & Marketplace Listing - Recently Kimberly D'Angelo, a realtor with Century 21 GOLD in Las Vegas, NV, had her home painted by new franchise owner and MIBN member, Christine Lerner of Certa-Pro Painters. Kimberly met Christine at an MIBN Monthly Luncheon, and then saw her listing in the Marketplace area.

Both were thrilled with the outcome - Kimberly had professional painters that did a great job at a great price, and Christine got her first MIBN client within one month of joining MIBN!

Business Success Tip - Are You A Frequent Flyer?

Tim Winship, co- author of "Mileage Pro: The Insider's Guide to Frequent Flyer Programs" offers these tips:

    • Use only one program. With more than one, it's too hard to cash in on rewards.
    • Shoot for "Elite" status so you can qualify for upgrades.
    • Rewards differ dramatically, so choose a program that suits your needs.
    • Earn extra miles by using a card that has partnered with hotels, car rentals, restaurants, and other businesses.
