The Weekly Giggle

A young man agreed to baby-sit one night so a single mother could have an evening out. At bedtime he sent the youngsters upstairs to bed and settled down to watch football.

One child kept creeping down the stairs, but the young man kept sending him back to bed.

At 9pm the doorbell rang, it was the next-door neighbor, Mrs. Brown, asking whether her son was there. The young man brusquely replied, "No."

Just then a little head appeared over the banister and shouted, "I'm here, Mom, but he won't let me go home!"

Marketing Tip

Moms In Business Network

Most small businesses don't put enough time, money and effort into marketing because there is only so much time in a day and money in your pocket.  So let your marketing work for you 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.  How?

Look for affordable, online marketing programs that meet your budget and your market.  Google's Adwords program is one example, and can be very affordable and effective especially if you take the time to target your ad to certain regions or online publications.

Mom's Marketplace, is one example of this.  Mom's Marketplace is a growing "shopping mall" of sorts for your business.  It's available all over the world wide web, marketing your business 24/7.  The Marketplace is currently only about 1/4 of the way done, and here is are some of the exciting companies we have so far.

Check it out.

Work/Life Balance Tip

CYD LOGOMany times this thing called "Work/Life Balance" seems unattainable especially for working families.  We try to be everything to everybody and one or another thing suffers because of it.  But there is something you can do about it!

Does your company offer work/life balance benefit?  I know what you're thinking, "That sounds expensive."  However, it doesn't have to be.

MIBN offers its business members and partners complimentary work/life balance consulting - we help your company design a program that fits in your budget and your corporate culture.  Believe it or not, many work/life programs can be free to the company, it just takes a little creativity and resourcefulness - and you well know, moms can be very creative and resourceful.

If you are already a member, give us a call, and we'll set this up for you  right away.

Business Tip

Moms In Business Network

"If you run a business and you are not involved in politics, then politics will run your business".  - Terry Neese, featured in  Inc. Magazine as one of the top 20 business "powerbrokers" in Washington.

We strongly encourage you to attend POWERful - A conference for women business owners.
These are the kinds of reactions people have to this conference:  "This has been one of the best conferences I've attended.  I easily made five times as much as I spent to attend, and I've made amazing connections.  I feel like I'm making a difference".

Moms In Business Network Members receive a $50 discount to the conference.

Sales Tip

Sales can take a lot of time and committment, and sometimes it just tough to get out there and network in person.   How do you connect?  Through networking.

For best results try a combination of personal networking, phone conference networking calls, and online networking.  For those of you who are shy or extremely pressed for time, online and phone conference networking can bring calls in without you hitting the pavement.

Personally, I've had the best results from the combination strategy, and I end up having more time and money left to take advantage of other business necessities like traveling to conferences
.  There are some good networking sites like Linked In that focuses more on the getting a job than getting a client, and iKarma is specifically for businesses.  And, of course, MIBN has the triad where you can get online networking, phone conference networking and in-person networking.  Of course, I'm sure you knew it had to be a group of moms that would figure out the best way to use time.

Moms Making A Difference
What makes this little bag the same price as your average home?

Surprising, isn't it?  What could possibly be in this bag that costs the same as your home, yet is actually more important?

People everywhere around the country are forced to make a choice between this bag and their home.  Why?  Because this bag of life-saving prescriptions costs $1600 PER MONTH!  In addition to health insurance that can cost between $550 to $1000 per month.  This is more than many mortgages.

Recently a group of MIBN members went to speak with Nevada state representatives:  Senator Harry Reid, Congressman Dean Heller, and Congressman Jon Porter to discuss the healthcare crisis in our country.  We are actively seeking moms like you to meet with our representatives personally to discuss the issues that affect your business.

Members of MIBN can sign up to join a group of business leaders in your city.
Log in and sign up.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Week!

Sincerely,

Moms In Business Network
