Do you dream of having your own business?  Do you wish you could work from home and have more freedom and flexibility to be with your kids when they need you?  Here are my top 4 tips to help you attain your dream of business ownership:

1. Locate resources to educate and empower you.
You have a great idea.  You want to move forward, but where do you begin?  You need to learn from others, and if you Google work at home mom or mom entrepreneur, you can find valuable resources to help you.  I highly recommend two Hot Moms who inspired me.   Angelina Musik of Momtrepreneurs.com helps moms understand if you believe in a dream, you can achieve it.  And Alice Seba of Alice Seba.com educates and provides resources to moms so you can grow your business on the Internet.

2.  Find a buddy who believes in you
Do not listen to friends or family who rain on your parade.  As you reach for your dreams, there will be certain people in your life who will have trouble accepting your success.  Instead, it is crucial that you find a buddy who believes in you - someone who can cheer you on and high-five you when you win and be supportive at times when you need it most.  This might be your spouse, your best friend or someone new that you meet while building your business.

3.  Get out of your own way.
Too often, you may hear the voices in your head say, You cant do that!  What will they think of you?  You are not good enough!

Its time to push past the fear!  In the last few years, I have learned to have a more courageous attitude and not to let my fears stop me from what I want to do.  When you are asked to do something, say yes immediately.  Do not allow yourself time to think.  When you stop to consider, you allow time for fear to set in.  Once you write that article, lead that meeting , or make that call, you will be so happy that you didnt say no.

4.  Create your own luck.
Dont be afraid to ask for the help you need to reach your dreams.  As I was writing The Business Mom Guide Book, I learned people who are ahead of us on our journey understand our position and are gracious and love to help when they can.  Live each day with a you never know attitude.  As you ask for what you need, you never know they might say yes.

I wish you the best of luck as you move forward toward your dream of being a business owner.
